Jenny Winterburn is based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. She has a Bachelor of Music degree with honours from Leeds University, graduating in 2003. Since then she has worked as a TA with adults with learning difficulties before training to become a primary teacher in 2006. Since 2008, she has taught in a special school and is currently leading a project to transform the music curriculum for all pupils with a wide range of complex needs.
She has also worked with the charity, YAMSEN, to deliver training. She is passionate about using music to engage children with both physical and learning difficulties using her voice, body, instruments and every day objects.
Through all her experience, she has found that music has the unique capacity to empower communication for children who might otherwise struggle to communicate.
