Help me make sound patterns by varying a repeated movement
Little Soundabout: Level 3 | Card: 24 | Category: Proactive
For example, by tapping more loudly or quietly, or faster or more slowly

- Help me to make the connection between gradually hitting soundmakers with more force and making louder sounds as a result
- Show me how to do it by placing my hand over yours while you make a series of bigger movements to hit a drum or tambourine
- Fade your support, bit by bit, if you can
- Now do the same, but getting faster or slower
- You could try doing the same thing with my bare feet on a drum
- Next, try helping me to play a small keyboard, pressing the notes, one by one, with one or two of my fingers, going from left to right to make higher sounds, going up a scale (like C, D, E, F, G)
- Use the weight of my hand to push the notes down, supporting my hand from underneath
- Help me build up a mental model of patterns of change with Soundabout Music Tracks: Patterns
