‘Pass the sound around’ with family members and friends

Extending patterns of imitation to three people or more can be very motivating

Sit in a small circle of three or four people
Make sure that the people are sitting really close together to give me a better chance of seeing or feeling what is going on
The person sitting next to me begins by making a sound with their voice
The person next to them copies it, and the sound starts to go round the circle
When it is my turn, pair me up with someone else,so we make a sound together to begin with
Allow lots of time to enable me to get a sense of what is happening
Pass the sound around using a small musical instrument like a shaker
Use a resonance board if you have one, so that I can feel the sounds in my body
Gradually include more people
